trac-x Trading Results May and June 2010

On the European internet platform tracx transport capacity trading totalled 180.89 GWh/h per day in May (May 2009: 29,588.57 GWh/h per day).
In the dayahead section of tracx, 411 dayahead auctions with a total of 25.53 GWh/h per day (May 2009: 10.76 GWh/h per day) ended successfully in May. At the crossborder point Bunde/Oude Statenzijl (entry) the average price for traded dayahead capacity amounted to € 3.60 per MWh/h per day. Bundled dayahead capacity at the crossborder point Bunde/Oude Statenzijl was traded for an average price of € 5.73 per MWh/h per day. At Eynatten/Raeren (entry) it amounted to an average of € 2.92 per MWh/h per day. In May, dayahead capacity at the network point Oberkappel (entry) was offered on tracx for the first time, as well.
In the longterm section of the platform a total of 155.37 GWh/h per day (May 2009: 29,577.81 GWh/h per day) was traded in May. Altogether, fifteen of the longterm entries offered on tracx were successfully purchased. May's longterm capacities were placed on the platform with contract periods ranging from seven days up to one year.
June
On the European internet platform tracx transport capacity trading totalled 244.65 GWh/h per day in June (June 2009: 781.76 GWh/h per day).
In the dayahead section of tracx, 577 dayahead auctions with a total of 35,74 GWh/h per day (June 2009: 3,66 GWh/h per day) ended successfully in June. Bundled dayahead capacity at the crossborder point Bunde/Oude Statenzijl was traded for an average price of € 5.73 per MWh/h per day. At Eynatten/Raeren (entry) it amounted to an average of € 2.91 per MWh/h per day. Moreover, dayahead capacity at the German network point Vreden was offered and sold on tracx for the first time in June, as well. Dayahead capacity at Vreden (entry) was traded for an average price of € 2.00 per MWh/h per day.
In the longterm section of the platform a total of 208.91 GWh/h per day (June 2009: 778.05 GWh/h per day) was traded in June. Altogether, five of the longterm entries offered on tracx were successfully purchased. June's longterm capacities were placed on the platform with contract periods ranging from one month up to nine and a half months.
Since the platform's trading start in March 2005, the overall trading volume on tracx has reached a total of 59,608.27 GWh/h per day. This includes 297.66 GWh/h per day from dayahead trading.
Currently, 71 companies from all over Europe are authorised to trade capacity rights on www.trac-x.de. During the past two months, four new companies were admitted to trade on tracx.
