Successful first month of operations of PRISMAs new secondary market functionality
"We're very happy to be reporting successful trading so soon after the launch of the functionality. The feedback and take-up of the new tool has been very positive." said Götz Lincke, managing director of PRISMA.
This latest development by PRISMA and the involved TSOs, is integrated into the PRISMA platform and will step by step replace the existing secondary platforms. The new secondary market tool, allows shippers to not only book primary but to also trade secondary transport capacity at European network points through the PRISMA platform.
Currently, 341 companies with 1,052 users are registered on PRISMA and can therefore participate in capacity trading on the platform.
PRISMA European Capacity Platform GmbH
PRISMA was founded by major European TSOs from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands with the aim to create a joint European capacity platform.
The new European Platform PRISMA, which was launched in April 2013, is the first platform to have implemented ENTSOG's Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms, the future market rules for allocating transport capacity.
There are currently 28 European TSOs from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Poland, Portugal and Spain connected to the platform and market transport capacity via PRISMA. 22 TSOs are shareholders of PRISMA.
With its harmonised capacity products and auction mechanisms and its ability to serve a high number of TSO backend systems in accordance with ENTSOG's CAM Network Code, PRISMA primary is a major step towards an integrated European gas market.
