One month after the launch of the new European capacity platform, PRISMA primary today released the trading results for the first month of operations.

Altogether, 3,716 day-ahead auctions took place on PRISMA primary in April, with a total day-ahead capacity of 6,912,592,335 kWh/h offered through the platform. The overall day-ahead trading volume amounted to 174,967,456 kWh/h. A total of 230 successful day-ahead auctions were registered on PRISMA primary in April.

In the first monthly auctions on PRISMA primary, a total of 14 successful auctions were registered on the platform in April. A total capacity of 197,831,996 kWh/h (81 monthly auctions) was offered on the European platform. The overall traded monthly capacity amounted to 3,719,511 kWh/h.

Currently, 255 companies with 730 users are registered on PRISMA primary and can therefore participate in capacity trading on the platform.

With the foundation of PRISMA major European TSOs from Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Germany, France, Italy and the Netherlands have bundled their collective experience in the field of capacity booking platforms to create a joint European capacity platform - PRISMA primary.

The goal of the new European Platform, which was launched on 1 April 2013, is the early implementation of ENTSOG's Network Code on Capacity Allocation Mechanisms, the future market rules for allocating transport capacity. The platform is able to handle harmonised capacity products, offer auction mechanisms and serve different TSO backend systems in accordance with ENTSOG's CAM Network Code.

PRISMA primary is a major step towards an integrated European gas market linking the gas markets of seven different countries in the core of Europe. It opens new possibilities for cross-border gas transport to shippers, who can, for the first time, book capacities at European network points through one single platform. The platform will in the future also have a secondary market function.

The new PRISMA European Capacity Platform is based on the experience of the operation of three existing platforms in Europe: Capsquare, Link4Hubs as well as the former TRAC-X primary platform.
