Swiss based Previon AG presents workflow solution for hyperlocal journalism
Hyperlocal content is one of the most important current trends in journalism. Media outlets, especially newspapers, stress the value of local news to maintain reader loyalty and divide readers into groups according to their urban districts. Although it's not without its critics, the trend is about to bring a far-reaching change in local journalism.
Story Sender solves logistical requirements of the hyperlocal approach
Hyperlocal journalism is fast and fragmented - correspondingly, the logistical requirements are high. With Story Sender, journalists and authorized reader reporters can directly create text, image, video and audio content with their device or add content from their local stock. Once the article is ready, it can be transmitted to the central editorial team, including metadata such as heading, title and body text. For an upcoming version, Previon plans to include geographic information, as well.
Transfer directly to the editorial system
Using application programming interfaces (APIs), Story Sender can be integrated with various content management and editorial systems. In this case, Story Sender transfers the content directly to the respective system.
When Story Sender is used in conjunction with MacEntur of Previon, a variety of additional options to manage the content are available. More than 50 newspapers in Switzerland alone have already implemented MacEntur, enabling editors to distribute content coming in from various sources to multiple channels. Story Sender can also integrate with digital asset management solutions.
"With Story Sender, we provide publishers once again with a powerful and reliable tool for increasing the efficiency of their editorial workflows," said Charles d'Heureuse, CEO of Previon AG. "In its daily work, our team is always on the pulse of the media world and can quickly develop practical solutions to upcoming trends."
