CODESYS supports even more CAN and CAN FD interfaces of PEAK-System

The automation software CODESYS from the company 3S-Smart Software Solutions supports even more CAN and CAN FD interfaces from PEAK-System. With the version CODESYS V3.5 SP10 released in December, the PCAN-Ethernet Gateway DR and the PCAN-Wireless Gateway DR can now be used with the CODESYS applications Gateway and Control Win V3. The following PCAN products are supported for a long time: USB, USB Pro, USB Pro FD, ExpressCard, PCI Dual Channel, PCI Express Quad and PCI Express FD Dual Channel.

The CODESYS Gateway software is used to service the CODESYS surface with the runtime system CODESYS Control V3. Thanks to the integrated PCAN-Basic API, this communication can also take place via CAN. For example, a CODESYS application can be transferred and debugged from a Windows PC via CAN to an embedded controller. Furthermore, the CODESYS CANopen or J1939 stack or any other CAN RAW application can also be tested on a Windows PC by the integration of the PCAN-Basic API in the CODESYS Control Win V3.

Furthermore, the CODESYS Control RTE application currently works with the dual-channel versions of the PCAN-PCI and the PCAN-PCI Express. In the future, the PCAN-PCI Express FD is also to be supported. The real-time SoftPLC CODESYS Control RTE directly accesses the hardware and has been developed for real-time critical applications. In addition, SocketCAN, a collection of CAN drivers, runs under CODESYS Control for Linux. This means that all CAN and CAN FD interfaces of PEAK-System can also be easily used under Linux with CODESYS software.
