Increasing connectivity and intelligent devices creating new opportunities in energy, controls, and smarthome services throughout Europe

Parks Associates and Verisure, a Securitas Direct company, announce new whitepaper and webcast about smarthome strategies

(PresseBox) (Dallas, Texas, ) Parks Associates and Verisure, a Securitas Direct company, have announced a new whitepaper and upcoming webcast that address growth opportunities for service providers, manufacturers, and technology companies in the European smarthome. Parks Associates research finds the number of intelligent screens Western European households are buying each year is steadily increasing, rising from 1.2 intelligent screens per household this year to 1.5 by 2018. Companies will be able to leverage these screens, including smartphones and tablets, to add value to new energy, home controls, and monitoring solutions in the home.

The firms analyze these opportunities in the whitepaper "Outlook for the Smarthome in Western Europe," now available for download, and the webcast "Understanding Revenue Models for Smarthome Technologies" on Wednesday, November 6, at 2 p.m. CET (7 a.m. CT U.S.).

"The ability to monitor and control a device in the home using a smartphone is groundbreaking, but it is just the beginning, as expanding connectivity and data analytics open up a variety of new features that can be added to everyday products, from smart meters to door locks," said Tom Kerber, Director, Research, Home Controls and Energy, Parks Associates. "Understanding the key value propositions for smarthome solutions and how the business models and partnerships will work is critical, and the webcast features a panel of key players in the smarthome ecosystem to analyze real deployments of energy and control services."

"Understanding Revenue Models for Smarthome Technologies" features speakers from iControl Networks, Cisco, Securitas Direct - Verisure, and Parks Associates. The complimentary event will highlight new channels, features, functions, and adoption rates of European smarthome offerings.

Dick Seger, CEO and President, Securitas Direct - Verisure, will present the opening keynote "Creating Smarthome Revenues through Customer Focus and Partnerships" on November 13, 10:00, at CONNECTIONS(TM) Europe: Monetization Strategies for the Connected Home. In his keynote presentation, he will address the importance of partnerships and the necessity of maintaining a consumer focus in order drive the connected smarthome market.

"The infrastructure is in place, so smarthome solutions are a natural evolution," said Dick Seger, CEO and President, Securitas Direct - Verisure. "Now companies must form partnerships in order to provide customers with a relevant, seamlessly integrated offering - because that is what they want."

CONNECTIONS(TM) Europe takes place November 12-13 at the Mövenpick Hotel in Amsterdam and focuses on next-generation services in home controls and access & entertainment, including new partnership opportunities between operators and utilities, strategies to engage consumers through innovative service bundling, and how to effectively connect consumers to digital content on various platforms.
