Gold for the 2016 "Perfect" Scheufelen calendar
Papierfabrik Scheufelen from Lenningen (in Baden- Württemberg, Germany) has once again been honoured with "Gold" in the leading calendar competition for the print and media industry in Europe, the gregor international calendar award.
A panel of experts presented awards in various categories for calendars selected from 1,026 international entries, including five "Gold", seven "Silver" and 20 "Bronze". Horst Lamparter, Sales Director Graphical Papers, and Christian Klamt, Sales Manager Central Europe, for Scheufelen, and the designers from Stuttgart-based agency Strichpunkt accepted the certificate at the ceremony.
Once again, Scheufelen joined forces with the Strichpunkt design agency to develop the idea and concept for the anniversary calendar in the multi-award-winning series. Belm-based Meinders & Elstermann GmbH & Co. KG was responsible for printing, while Scheufelen worked with Gräfe Veredelung GmbH, Bielefeld, and SIEB tu DRUCK GmbH + Co. KG, Schloss Holte-Stukenbrock, to achieve the numerous finishes. Final processing was carried out at Bernd Häseler - Buchbinderei GmbH, Minden.
The central idea of "Perfect" brings together fascinating examples from art and nature that illustrate perfection. Each page of the calendar stands out with richly illustrated, lavishly finished motifs, ranging from an owl's silent flight and the finely structured yet robust shell of an egg to the blue of the paintings by Yves Klein. Printed on the Scheufelen papers heaven 42, phoenixmotion and bvs and the new phoenolux board, the calendar impressively combines the values of quality and perfection that Scheufelen has represented for over 160 years.
"We're delighted to have been honoured for our wall calendar once again this year. It's the perfect start to 2016. "We've done everything to make the anniversary calendar the perfect platform for design and excellence in printing and finishing techniques with our high-quality premium papers and the new phoenolux board," says Lamparter.
All entries will be on display at the Haus der Wirtschaft in Stuttgart until 14 February 2016. The "gregor international calendar award" exhibition will then move to Karlsruhe, where it can be viewed at Karlsruhe Regional Council from 19 February until 20 March 2016.
Just 2,500 copies of the limited edition bilingual German/English wall calendar have been produced. A small number are available at a price per calendar of 100.00 euros (including VAT). A smaller number of individual calendar pages are available at 15.00 each (including VAT).
