Today was the official start of the planned construction work at Osram Opto Semiconductors in Regensburg. The Lady Mayor of Regensburg, Gertrud Maltz-Schwarzfischer, property developer Gerhard Thiel, and the CEO of Osram Opto Semiconductors Aldo Kamper attended the ceremony.
“Our investment in the expansion of the clean room facilities from 6,000 to 9,000 square meters and the associated increase in the workforce over the next few years by as many as 1,000 employees represent a clear commitment to the headquarters of this high-tech company in the cathedral city”, said Aldo Kamper. This site will continue to produce innovative opto semiconductors for future applications such as iris scanning, virtual reality and autonomous driving.
