Innovative fuel cell technology and hydrogen sensor technology at the Hannover Messe: The ODB-Tec GmbH & Co. KG in Neuss presents the latest developments

ODB-Tec is a development and service company for near-to-market applications of nano technology, which is engaged for the past eight years with the development of functional nano-systems

Neuss, (PresseBox) - From the very beginning, the central aim has been to transform scientific visions into real market successes. Based on extensive, qualified fundamental research, we develop functional nano coatings and nano energy systems which clearly benefit industry and end customers - and make life simpler.

"Our patented solutions include a broad spectrum of applications - from the building industry and energy generation in high-duty plants to solar energy supply of private homes" explains Managing Director Dr. D. Ostermann. With the development of a low cost and safety hydrogen sensor ODB-Tec was able to serve the automotive market already. Other sectors need to be developed.

The development of a thin-film single-chamber fuel cell, which works only with a single combustion chamber, is the latest innovative breakthrough by Dr. Dieter Ostermann and his team. In this fuel cell, hydrogen and oxygen are fed together. The hydrogen-air mixture (below the explosion limit) is in interaction with a very cost effective coat system. The chemical reaction energy is converted into electrical energy at room temperature.

More new and further developments of ODB-Tec with high growth potential are for example

- Photocatalysts for the extraction of hydrogen in a solar collector
- Coating for the realisation of thin-film photovoltaic cells
- Highly-selective coating for solar thermal collectors
- Highly-selective coating for absorber pipes of parabolic channel collectors (CSP)
