John Deere delivers its 1,000th e-series forest machine to a German Customer
German machine entrepreneur Burkhard Busch also considered the innovative cab solution to be the biggest benefit when he purchased the John Deere 1210E forwarder. "We work in demanding conditions on hilly felling worksites. John Deere forest machines are in a class of their own when it comes to productivity, efficiency, and work ergonomics," stated Busch at the handing-over ceremony in Joensuu.
"The design of E-series machines is based on productivity, reliability, and low daily operating costs. We are fully committed to this customer promise, and customer feedback indicates that new John Deere E-series forest machines have fulfilled our promise to provide productivity, reliability, and easy use. We have also developed spare part availability, service agreements, and machine monitoring services," explains Marketing Manager Janne Märkälä.
The John Deere Forestry Oy plant in Joensuu is assembling forest machines at full capacity. The successful launch of the E-series machines and subsequent good sales figures are a good example of the company's strong hold on the industry despite the deep recession. The John Deere Forestry Oy plant in Joensuu employs approximately 400 people. A new 2,000-square meter office building currently under construction will be completed on schedule in early 2011.
"Production at the Joensuu plant is nearing the 20,000-machine milestone. We are continuing to systematically develop the plant and product quality. We invest more in product development than any other forest machine manufacturer. Now that the entire E-series range has been launched, the next phase will involve equipping E-series machines with engines that meet Tier 4 emissions standards," comments Janne Haapasalo, plant manager for John Deere Forestry Oy.
