Hamburg plays host to BIO-Europe for the second time

BIO-Europe will be held in the Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) from November 12 to 14 / 21 North German life science firms will showcase their expertise on a joint stand

(PresseBox) (Hamburg, ) After five years, Europe's most important partnering conference is returning to Hamburg: From November 12 to 14, managers and executives from the fields of pharma, biotech and finance will converge on the Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) for several days of international networking. 21 North German life science companies will present themselves to an international public under the umbrella of the Host Sponsor Life Science Nord.

Press conference with political and industry representatives

The official opening will be preceded by a press conference at the North German Joint Stand at 9:45 a.m. on 12 November. As representatives of the federal states of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein, State Secretary Dr. Horst-Michael Pelikahn from the Hamburg Ministry of Science and Research and State Secretary Ralph Müller- Beck from the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Employment, Transport and Technology of Schleswig-Holstein will emphasize just how significant the life science sector is for North Germany.

The North German Joint Stand reflects the trans-regional cluster policy of Schleswig- Holstein and BIO-Europe host Hamburg. A large number of North German companies have joined forces under the Life Science Nord umbrella brand to showcase the region's strengths - with a particular focus on drug development and molecular diagnostics. At the press conference, they will be represented by Dr. Klaus Maleck, Executive Vice President Corporate Development of the Hamburg-based Evotec AG and Dr. Timm Jessen, the CEO of Bionamics GmbH in Kiel and head of the consortium Neu2. After the press conference, BIO-Europe will be officially opened by EBD President Carola Schropp.

Accompanying program

The extensive program accompanying BIO-Europe kicks off on Sunday with the Welcome Tour. Besides taking in tourist attractions such as the Hafen City, guests can also make some exciting discoveries in the life science field: DESY (Deutsches Elektronen Synchrotron) and the Hamburg lighthouse project European ScreeningPort will open their doors exclusively to those taking part in the Welcome Tour. Afterwards, they will have a chance to enjoy the unique and Hanseatic atmosphere of the cruise terminal at the Welcome Reception in the Altona Cruise Center.

At the trade show itself, the Life Science Nord Region will showcase its diversity to the biotech world. On November 13, seven selected companies will present their business strategies in the company presentation track and sound out new partnering opportunities. Later, during the Hospitality Reception, all firms will welcome their guests at the Life Science Nord's Joint Stand.
