(PresseBox) (Munich, )The NorCom Group formed by NSA, CognIT AS and NorCom Information
Technology AG, together with Sytel Reply S.r.L has offered a product solution
as well as their joint strategic cooperation that fulfilled not only NRK’s solution
requirements but also their desire for a partner for NRK in its move towards
digitalization.
The Group was chosen to cooperate with NRK due to some important reasons:
The NorCom Group together with Sytel Reply consists of well-known manufacturers,
having acquired a reputation of confidence and solidity within the
broadcast and media industry. The expertise and competence allows the
Group to ground and probe into innovation with rapidity and effectiveness. As
the Group is a dedicated and active developer of new product solutions and
technologies, investing in international product development, NRK will benefit
from its activity and ambition of supplying future oriented solutions, technology
and services. The local presence of the NorCom Group is granted by the Norwegian
based NSA and therefore NRK’s requirements can be served in a proper
and timely matter.
The NorCom Group has developed a product solution based on IT- and
Broadcast standards. The Product solution is based on the Group’s product
and solution offerings such as: NorCom’s state of the art NCPower (100%
digital newsroom system, EAI-platform), CognIT’s sophisticated metadata
search, automatic categorization and search technologies, CORPORUM®,
NSA’s platform for Music distribution and Yellow Pages cataloguing, as well as
Reply’s modules for Ingestion, Essence Management and Delivery.
These unique products, the experience and competence of its providers and
with NSA as a General Contractor and System Integrator, resulted in a product
suite, which can be considered as the best and future oriented, using the
best-of-breed, state of the art technology in the broadcast market.
The product solution for NRK’s Digital File-Based Music Library (DFML) was
aimed for the three key target groups: the ingest operator, the archivist and
the journalist. The system will be integrated with the play out solutions within
both radio and TV.
“This music archive will enable full immediate access with state-of-the art categorization
and search capabilities for all music within NRK”, says Jon Roar
Tønnesen, NRK.
“The award of this contract represent a breakthrough for the NorCom Group
within the Multimedia Content Management market in Norway. Many companies
within many industries need solutions for managing their multimedia content
in the future”, says Viggo Nordbakk, CEO of NorCom Information
Technology AG.
The global launch of the new product will take place at NAB 2006, the world’s
largest electronic media show, in Las Vegas in April.
