TIM Brasil - one of the largest carriers in the country - and Nokia Siemens Networks have signed a contract to deploy and service a WCDMA/HSPA network, offering high-speed mobile broadband data services in several Brazilian states of the South, Northeast and North regions.

Nokia Siemens Networks will be the single 2G/3G Packet Core Network supplier for the whole country and the main radio access network supplier to the states of Rio Grande do Sul, Paraná, Santa Catarina, Pernambuco, Paraíba, Alagoas, Rio Grande do Norte, Ceará, Maranhão, Piauí, Pará, Amazonas, Roraima and Amapá. TIM's network will be upgraded with industry-leading Flexi base stations.
