Newtec shortlisted for CSI Awards for FlexACM® and MENOS
FlexACM® is a solution that allows simple, yet very efficient implementation of ACM (Adaptive Coding and Modulation) over satellite, in IP trunking and IP backbone systems, reducing cost, whilst improving customer satisfaction and ensuring 100 percent service reliability. The unique FlexACM solution, which is the first of its kind, allows implementation of ACM in both point-to-point and point-to-multipoint configurations, for unidirectional as well as bidirectional links and typically provides 100 percent increase in throughput, while providing 100 % link availability.
MENOS is a fully IP based revolutionary networking concept used to exchange multimedia content over satellite, allowing broadcasters to share video and audio material among scattered sites in a fully automated and cost efficient way. MENOS has also been shortlisted for the IBC2009 Innovation Awards.
Newtec CEO, Serge Van Herck, said "We were very proud to win a CSI "Product of the Year" award in 2008 with our EL810 Mobile PEP-Box® Terminal providing state-of-the-art IP traffic enhancement, traffic compression and IP security functionalities. I am now extremely pleased that we have been shortlisted in two categories this year. Both FlexACM® and MENOS are truly innovative solutions and flagship products for Newtec and we are hoping that this will be recognised on award night.".
The CSI Awards are entering their fourth year and are one of the most comprehensive technology awards anywhere, designed to reward technical and product marketing excellence, with an emphasis on innovation.
