NanoEurope 2008: From the lab to the marketplace

St.Gallen, (PresseBox) - On September 16 and 17, 2008, the sixth NanoEurope - the European specialist congress with exhibition for technology and know-how transfer in nanotechnology - will be held in St.Gallen (Switzerland). We have the great pleasure of inviting you to the media conference to be held on this occasion.

Nanotechnology is a fascinating field of research and one of the most frequently encountered topics in the scientific and engineering communities. In addition, it is a significant innovation engine. Solar engineering applications, energy storage systems, textiles, medical devices, foods, general industrial applications - nanotechnology is experiencing its breakthrough everywhere as a new discipline spanning diverse fields of business activity and is opening up a hitherto inconceivable range of potential new applications and markets. Alone in the area of products which are being improved with the aid of nanotechnological effects (so-called nanoenabled products), Lux Research estimates the global market to grow to USD 1.8 trillion by the year 2014. This is more than the total telecommunications and IT markets combined.

At the media conference on "Nanotechnology: From the lab to the marketplace," you will learn about more details on the focus of the NanoEurope 2008 and hear first-hand success reports on the commercialization of nanotechnology. The media conference will be held in Germany, with the media release being available also in English.

Date: Tuesday, August 19, 2008, 9:30 a.m. to about 10:30 a.m.
