Preliminary figures for the fiscal year 2007
- 23% revenue increase
- Successful establishment of Nashtec production plant in US
Nabaltec AG, a leading supplier of mineral-based flame retardants and raw materials for technical ceramics, has announced its preliminary figures for the fiscal year 2007 today. Apparently the company has achieved a further growth spurt, increasing its revenue by 23.0% to EUR 88.1 million. In the "Functional Fillers" division the revenue growth was 24.9% and in the "Technical Ceramics" division 19.7%. On the earnings side, Nabaltec is expecting to exceed the consolidated result of the previous year clearly.
The Nashtec production plant, which started its operations in November 2006, was successfully established in the last financial year, despite a safety inspection in the third quarter. Among other things, this success was due to the high product quality which matches that of the main site in Schwandorf – a standard that has been confirmed by customer audits at Nashtec.
As a result of the ongoing high level of demand Nabaltec again increased its fine-precipitated hydroxide capacity at the Schwandorf plant, so that its overall production capacity for fine-precipitated hydroxides rose to a total of 100,000 tons by the end of last year. Production facilities for ceramic bodies and reactive aluminium oxides were also further expanded so as to do justice to the continuous rise in demand of customers in this high-quality product range.
Quite recently, at the end of January, Nabaltec AG received the TOP JOB award. As in 2006, it is again one of the top employers among medium-sized German companies in 2008.
The Management Board is expecting to continue the present growth trend in the fiscal year 2008.
Nabaltec AG, with registered office in Schwandorf, a chemicals business which has received multiple awards for innovativeness, manufactures, develops and distributes highly specialized products based on aluminum hydroxide ("ATH") and aluminum oxide, as well as other raw materials, on an industrial scale through its "Functional Fillers" and "Technical Ceramics" divisions. The company's product range includes flame retardant fillers for the plastics industry, used e.g. in cables in tunnels, airports, high-rise buildings and electronic devices, as well as base materials for use in technical ceramics, the refractory industry and catalysis. Unlike halogenated flame retardant fillers, the products manufactured by the company's "Functional Fillers" division contain no hazardous substances and do not require separate disposal. Rather, the company's flame retardant fillers actually decrease the development of fumes hazardous to human health and the environment in the event of fire. Nabaltec maintains production sites in Germany and the US. It aims to further consolidate its market position by increasing capacity, continuing to optimize its processes and product quality and strategic additions to its product range and to secure the market leadership in each segment where its specialty products are represented, in addition to qualitative leadership.
