Myriad Shortlisted for the 2014 Telecoms.com Awards
Myriad was shortlisted for its collaboration with America Movil, for its successful deployment and launch of an operator-branded OTT style, cross platform messaging service, which could effectively engage consumers in an OTT world.
MSNGR provides an OTT-like chat interface in which subscribers can message each other and share content. It can be completely operator branded, placing service providers, at the centre of the content delivery and monetisation value chain. Currently, this is a position more commonly enjoyed by OTT players.
MSGNR supports both smartphones and feature phones, ensuring access for the operator's entire customer base. Moreover, MSNGR is a very attractive prospect to end users, as it is completely free due to data being zero rated. MSNGR also supports all standard IM features and the ability to interconnect with other operators, or third party messaging communities.
Stephen Dunford, CEO, of Myriad, commented: "Myriad are honoured to be shortlisted for this prestigious award for our collaboration with America Movil, - to launch an operator-branded OTT style messaging service. Since its installation into 16 LatAm markets commencing in December 2012, Myriad has recorded strong user growth for MSGNR, with registered MSNGR users now totalling 38 million in Q4 2013. With an addressable market of 265 million users, this is the kind of growth that is supporting America Movil in its campaign to head off the OTT danger".
