Myriad Group AG (SIX Swiss Exchange: MYRN) has been awarded the 2017 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award for its unique global M2M connectivity platform, Thingstream (

Launched in June, Thingstream uses GSM connectivity but doesn't require data, offering a ubiquitous solution for a broad range of IoT applications; ideally suited to devices which move, are in remote locations or need to be super secure before connected to the cloud.

Designed to provide a simple solution to IoT connectivity challenges, Thingstream's solution weaves MQTT support into Unstructured Supplementary Service Data (USSD), universally available via the platform's global roaming SIM, creating a unique IoT proposition.

Neil Hamilton, VP of Business Development at Myriad said: "We want to enable simple, secure connections for industrial IoT applications with Thingstream, addressing both technical and commercial challenges associated with connecting remote, moving and roaming devices to networks.

"We are delighted that Thingstream has been named as one of the most innovative new IoT products at this year's awards."

The award is judged by the editors of TMC's IoT Evolution World magazine, and recognises the best and most disruptive IoT products and solutions launched within the last year.

Carl Ford, CEO of Crossfire Media, a co-publisher of IoT Evolution commented: "The solutions selected for the IoT Evolution Product of Year Award reflect the diverse range of innovation driving the machine to machine market today. It is my honor to congratulate Myriad for their innovative work and superior contribution to the rapidly evolving IoT industry."

Rich Tehrani, CEO, TMC added: "It is my pleasure to recognise Thingstream, an innovative solution that earned Myriad the 2017 IoT Evolution Product of the Year Award. I look forward to seeing more innovation from Myriad in the future."
