Producer of commercial or special-purpose vehicle have to solve not only ambitious challenges of transport such as transportation of heavy loads, but also have to design individual special purpose vehicles with controllable special features such as low-bed trailers, special purpose vehicles with lifting platforms, vehicles for different maintenance work, for example controlling of bridges.

Müller Industrie-Elektronik GmbH has developed a very flexible vehicle control system for the functional requirements of commercial vehicles.

The VCS vehicle control system consists of a VCS-TU control unit in small design, mountable in a common DIN radio slot in a vehicle cockpit. Alternatively there is an operating unit in a robust heavy-duty-case with wired capability of connecting the additional remote unit VSC-RU in handheld case. This remote unit in handheld case can be used as independent controlling unit to control seven different functions, too. For all types of operating units from Müller Industrie-Elektronik, the E1-approval from Federal Motor Transport Authority is on hand. The two mounting operating units VCS-TU-DIN and VCS-TU-HD are customized programmable up to nineteen control commands and have push-button slide-in labels for user-specific identification of the command functions. The programming can be done via an external programmable logic control or via the software included in delivery in combination with the Müller power unit without programming knowledge. Setting and retrieving vehicle data is available by the display.

The power unit VCS-PU is an additional, essential module of the vehicle control system and is mounted directly at the vehicle between the functions that have to be controlled and is connected with the particular operating unit via a 2-wire CAN bus connection, that means reduced wiring.

The power unit module VCS-PU from Müller Industrie-Elektronik is available in three versions with different switching capacity in various design of cases. The option between vehicle case and heavy-duty-case in two sizes, provided with high protection class IP69k, as well as the OEM-version with PCB in open-type assembly provides high flexibility for customized solutions.
