US Air Force beauftragt Anbietergemeinschaft um Northrop Grumman / Über 300 Millionen Euro geschätzter Umsatz für die MTU

Die MTU Maintenance gehört zu einer Anbietergemeinschaft, die von der US Air Force (USAF) mit der Betreuung ihrer KC-10 Extender-Tankerflotte beauftragt wurde. Die MTU-Spezialisten zeichnen für die Instandhaltung der 204 CF6-50C2-Triebwerke der US-Tanker verantwortlich sowie für Engineering-Leistungen, Vor-Ort-Service und Triebwerksüberwachung. Über die neunjährige Laufzeit des Contractor Logistics Support (CLS)-Auftrags rechnet Deutschlands führender Triebwerkshersteller mit einem Umsatz von über 300 Millionen Euro (500 Millionen US-Dollar). Der komplette Auftrag umfasst rund 2,5 Milliarden Euro (3,8 Milliarden US-Dollar). Die Tanker- und Frachtmaschinen sind Teil der Lufttransport-Einheit der US Air Force und fliegen weltweite Anti-Terror-Einsätze und unterstützen humanitäre Missionen.
