Die primärgetakteten DC/DC-Wandler mit 250 Watt von MTM Power wurden speziell für den Einsatz in der Fahrzeugtechnik entwickelt und arbeiten nach dem Gegentaktprinzip. Hierbei wird die Eingangsgleichspannung durch zwei im Gegentakt arbeitende Transistoren mit einer Frequenz von ca. 60 kHz zerhackt. Mit Hilfe eines Transformators und einer sekundärseitigen Längsdrossel wird eine galvanisch getrennte Ausgangsspannung (12 V, 24 V oder 30 V) erzeugt, die durch eine Pulsweitenmodulation nach dem "Current Mode"-Prinzip geregelt wird. Die Serie PCMD250W ist mit den Eingangsspannungen 24 VDC (16,8...36 VDC), 48 VDC (30...75 VDC), 80 VDC (50...150VDC) und 110 VDC (66...154 VDC) erhältlich.
