In Great Britain there are many well-known car makers. Especially one brand is recognized even by car amateurs: Lotus. The company, founded by Anthony Colin Bruce Chapman, exists since 1948 and quickly began to make his name in racing circles especially via Formula1. Since then such famous names as Stirling Moss, Jim Clark, Graham Hill, Jochen Rindt, Mario Andretti, Emerson Fittipaldi and Ayrton Senna have been inextricably linked with the brand. With these legendary drivers, Lotus gained eleven Constructors' title in Formula 1 and countless successes in other classes. After the death of the founder, Lotus took a break in Formula 1 in order to be able to fully concentrate on the street sports cars. But despite that success, which Lotus, among others, celebrated with Elise and Esprit, the company could never forget their racing roots. And so in 2010 a reunion happened in Formula 1. This racing campaign was accompanied by a completely new and extended business approach in relation to road vehicles. Thus, at the Motor Show 2010 in Paris five new models were announced by 2015. It is anticipated that the new Esprit, Eterne and Elite are equipped with a 5l, 620 PS V8 motor, which will allow acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds. In order to become the future competitor to the established players such as Ferrari, Porsche and co. the best choice in technical solutions as well as partners is essential. For the field of braking systems, which involves both steel and ceramic solutions, Lotus has chosen MOV'IT.

Even today, the founder in person is involved in each single new project. "We always start from scratch with a "blank piece of paper", because no car is exactly like the other: Power, weight, maximum speed, mounting suspension, power transmission or dynamic - everything has to be factored in accurately, and only after that the final design can be brought to paper, and subsequently on the road." explains Guido Frensemeyer. So after oftentimes months of thorough research and extensive development, the resulting braking systems are recognized worldwide as reference components.

Frank Scherer, Director of the MOV'IT GmbH and CEO of the MOV'IT Group explains: "The serial nomination by Lotus supports the development and the performance of our company and represents the next landmark in our company's development. The continuous further development in all areas along with the underlying process landscape allows us to be a competent partner, even for the most demanding automobile manufacturers. The fact that we are already working with some of the leading German car manufacturers on specific projects, and that we are in the process of being approved as series supplier as well, emphasizes this. We are looking forward to experience the fruits of our work on the road - in the next car models from Lotus."
