Neue Technologie reduziert die Notwendigkeit der "Mithilfe" von Benutzern

MessageLabs, weltweit führender Managed Service Provider für E-Mail-Sicherheit für Unternehmen, warnt vor einer neuen Phishing-Methode, die beim Online-Banking Einwahldaten abfängt ohne dass der Benutzer dazu aktiv über einen integrierten Link eine entsprechende Website aufrufen muss. Das bloße Öffnen der Phishing-Mail reicht bereits aus, um unbemerkt ein Script ablaufen zu lassen. Dieses Script versucht dann, die Host-Dateien der betroffenen Rechner nachzuschreiben. Beim nächsten legalen Log-In zum Online-Banking wird der Benutzer automatisch auf eine betrügerische Webseite weiter geleitet, wo letztendlich die Log-In-Details "abgephisht" werden. Ende Oktober sind MessageLabs solche E-Mails in verhältnismäßig geringer Anzahl ins Netz gegangen.
