MCCI Announces USB Host Software Stack for SuperSpeed USB 3.0 xHCI Host Controller
Crucial Component Makes USB 3.0 a Reality
"The release of MCCI's USB 3.0 xHCI software stack is important to help customers bring SuperSpeed USB 3.0 products to market," said John Koeter, vice president of marketing for the Solutions Group at Synopsys. "Our collaboration with MCCI provides designers with access to an interoperable system-level USB 3.0 solution consisting of MCCI's USB software stack and our high-quality DesignWare SuperSpeed USB IP, enabling the quick adoption of the SuperSpeed USB standard with less risk."
The MCCI host stack provides support for Windows 2000 through Windows 7 on 32- and 64-bit systems. Robustness of the MCCI software stack is measured and assured by MCCI's proven suite of test tools that support integration into any desired platform.
"There's no question that the availability of a robust USB host software stack for the xHCI Host Controller is crucial to the success of USB 3.0," said Terry Moore, CEO of MCCI. "MCCI is collaborating with Synopsys for USB 3.0 IP because they provide a complete USB IP solution consisting of a digital controller, PHY and verification IP, as well as a virtual tool software environment, which is extremely useful for early product development. When developers turn to MCCI, time-to-market decreases and overall product costs are lowered."
Release to market is expected in second quarter 2009.
