McAfee, the device to cloud cybersecurity company, today announced it will achieve gender pay parity globally in early 2019. In a first for the cybersecurity industry, this move marks a significant milestone for McAfee and reaffirms the company’s commitment to equality and creating an inclusive workforce.

McAfee defines pay parity as fair and equal pay for employees, on average, in the same job and location, no matter their gender. As part of this global initiative spanning 44 countries and more than 7,000 employees, McAfee will compare and evaluate average employee pay based on job, level, and location controlling for pay differentiators such as performance, tenure and experience. The company will make any necessary adjustments to employee salaries globally in the first half of 2019.

“At McAfee we recognize the power in diversity, and fundamentally believe every single employee should be compensated fairly and equally for their individual contribution to the company,” said Christopher Young, CEO, McAfee. “Creating an inclusive and diverse workforce is not just the right thing to do, it’s the smart thing to do too.”

“We value each and every one of our employees and the contribution they provide when they bring their full authentic self to work,” said Chatelle Lynch, Chief Human Resources Officer, McAfee. “With the tools and intelligence at our disposal, we’re able to make a real difference in eliminating any pay parity discrepancies and in doing so, underscore the importance we place on employee performance and contribution, regardless of gender.”

Reinforcing the company’s commitment to inclusion and diversity, McAfee CEO, Chris Young, also announced today he has joined CEO Action, the largest coalition of CEOs and presidents who are pledging to act on supporting a more inclusive workplace. The organization aims to engage with and support underrepresented groups in all areas of business.
