MBS and Fraport announce cooperation

Krefeld, (PresseBox) - MBS GmbH, Krefeld and Fraport AG, Frankfurt/Main announced a strategic cooperation for BACnet.

Fraport, managing the largest German airport in Frankfurt/Main, has decided for BACnet as the communication protocol in building automation.

To test the offered BACnet components for further operation at the airport and to assure a fair competition between vendors, BACnet controller and management stations are tested in a test laboratory at the airport, which was established especially for this purpose.

The BACnet Test Framework, which is also used for the European Certification tests, is used to perform the tests in the test laboratory.

Whereas assuring the strict specifications of the norm is the focus at certification tests, the tests in the FRAPORT laboratory assure the compliance to the application specifications, which are described in a functional specification for building automation.

Furthermore the devices are tested for Interoperability among themselves and additionally on performance in the network interconnection.

"We like to establish the basis for real and fair competition with BACnet at Frankfurt airport", announced Bernd Hanke, Head of Airport Facility Management at Fraport.

"This technology is offered to other facilities, which plan to use BACnet and like to test the compliance to the specifications, as well", added Martin Brust-Theiss, Managing Director of MBS.
