Leading Hospitals Using Mazor Robotics for Spine Surgery Featured on US National TV and Cable Networks

Broadcast to Millions of Viewers on PBS, Fox Business News, CNN, Business Day with Terry Bradshaw, and Ridley Scott's New Show on Science Channel

(PresseBox) (Münster, ) Leading hospitals and surgeons using Mazor Robotics technology will be featured on national TV and major networks this fall. Highlighting the clinical value of innovative technology for spine surgery and its impact on health care, the segments will be broadcast nationally on the Public Broadcasting System (PBS), Fox Business News, CNN and multiple local syndications throughout the US.

PBS's award-winning show, The American Health Journal, recently filmed a segment in Plano, Texas highlighting the clinical value and improved outcomes of patients being operated on using Mazor Robotics technology.

Business Day with Terry Bradshaw, which airs on the Fox Business Network, CNN Headline News, and Comcast Cable, covers topics from emerging technologies to health care developments and environmental solutions impacting the global economy. In the Business Day feature, Mr Bradshaw interviewed surgeons from leading hospitals in Irvine, California and Plano, Texas about the impact and advantages of robotic spine surgery.

"It was their commitment to clinical excellence that prompted the surgeons to adapt a robotic guidance system to their surgeries, especially in complex and minimally invasive surgeries," noted Bradshaw, in his introduction of spine surgeons Nitin N. Bhatia, MD, and Sam Bederman, MD, from Irvine, California. Both surgeons emphasized Mazor Robotics' superior accuracy for a variety of spine procedures. Mr Bradshaw, citing a 14-center peer-review article published in Spine, noted that, "a recent study of over 600 patients revealed that the technology provides an accuracy rate of over 98%. Without it, the average accuracy rate is 90%."

Mr Bradshaw also quoted orthopedic surgeon Isador H. Lieberman, MD, from Plano, Texas who highlighted the value of Mazor Robotics, "it's all about providing the highest quality of care to optimizing patient outcomes and dramatically cutting costs." Later this fall, UC Irvine's implementation of Mazor Robotics technology will be spotlighted in a new series produced by acclaimed director Ridley Scott for the Science Channel.
