The largest-ever service contract for manroland

printservices team to upgrade Thairath Daily printing systems

(PresseBox) (Offenbach / Main, ) Thairath Daily, the highest-circulation daily newspaper in Thailand, continues its longstanding cooperation with manroland. Both companies signed a service contract in Düsseldorf on 31 May, and this is the largest individual service contract manroland has ever concluded.

The contract covers a variety of services including a complete overhaul of six GEOMAN presslines. In the course of this manroland is to renew the press controls and upgrade the presses with "MultiCam on ICON", a new register guidance system from the QuadTech company. Thairath Daily and manroland have enjoyed a successful business relationship for more than 30 years. Gerd Finkbeiner, CEO of manroland AG, says about the contract: "manroland is groundbreaking and a leader in the services business. This contract shows that Thairath Daily has full confidence in us, and that our service orientation is absolutely correct." The upgrade work is to be carried out by printservices, the manroland brand for services and support. Yinglak Vacharaphol, CEO of Vacharaphol Ltd., is convinced about the reliability of manroland and its cuttingedge technology: "We are completely satisfied with the products and services that manroland and MAN Ferrostaal Thailand provide us with - full service from a single source."

About Thairath Daily

Only one year ago, Thairath Daily decided to streamline its newspaper production with a complete printnet workflow from the manroland subsidiary company ppi Media. Since it was founded by Kamphol Vacharaphol in 1948, what is today Thailand's largest and most prestigious daily newspaper has been published by The Vacharaphol Co. Ltd., a family-owned concern. With six different editions and a circulation of around one million copies, Thairath has something like a 33 percent share of Thailand's newspaper market. The actual readership base is much higher: every day around 25 million people all over the country read the Thairath Daily. All the editions are produced on a total of six GEOMAN presslines from manroland.
