MAN and NEOPLAN Buses at the RDA Workshop
A two-axle NEOPLAN Cityliner HD of the new generation and a MAN Lion's Coach Supreme are in place for the appreciation of the coach viewing public. The NEOPLAN Cityliner HD was first presented to the public at the IAA Commercial Vehicles in 2006, won the coveted "red dot: best of the best" design award early in 2007, and has already sold 400 times. Its high-grade extras include the new electronic CDS (comfort drive suspension), and it comes to standard with cornering lights, something entirely new in the coach sector. The two-stage CDS system is also a first-time appearance in the coach sector. It enhances safety in exacting driving situations and with different loads as well as increasing the comfort felt by passengers. Completing the model range, 13 and 14 meters in length, three-axle coaches were recently added with the typical NEOPLAN compact rear end and actively steered trailing axle. The vehicle exhibited features a D20 common rail engine to Euro 4 standard with 400 HP and a 12-step MAN TipMatic gear shift.
The MAN Lion's Coach Supreme, as the name implies, is the best of the MAN tourist coach range. In addition to the high-quality design features, characteristic of the brand, of the stainless steel elements on the B-pillar, the concealed wheel arches, the striking front end and elegant closed ceiling, the vehicle is also technically of the latest development. The vehicle exhibited at the RDA runs on a MAN D20 common rail engine of 440 HP using MAN PURE DIESEL technology without additives paired with a six-gear transmission. The vehicle comes in three lengths of 12, 13.26 and 13.80 meters, and shown here is a two-axled model. Also to be seen is a striking new exterior decoration for the MAN Lion's Coach, marking 250 years of MAN history and 104 years of Büssing and MAN bus history.
Integrated between the vehicle exhibits, as on earlier occasions, is an inviting cafeteria where Hans-Joachim Pilz (managing director of the bus sector of MAN Truck & Bus Deutschland GmbH) and his sales team await customers and visitors to the booth.
Pilz is especially keen to speak to customers about MAN engine technology: "We're looking forward to the RDA exhibition and to talking to all our bus and coach customers face to face. We'd like to welcome you in Cologne, and acquaint you with the successful coaches of both brands, needing no additives and also of Euro 5 or EEV standard."
The RDA Workshop is the leading trade show of coach tourism at which service providers from all touristic branches as well as coach manufacturers present their ideas and products. For further information visit www.man-mn.com/press
