MAN's SE Works Council forms in Munich

(PresseBox) ( München, )
Following the Company's change of legal form to an SE (European Stock Corporation) in spring 2009, the Works Council of MAN SE has now been formed. The first meeting of the SE Works Council in Munich saw Jürgen Dorn elected as Chairman. Dorn is also member of the MAN SE Supervisory Board. Gerhard Kreutzer (of Oberhausen in Germany) and Erich Schwarz (of Steyr in Austria) were appointed as his deputies.

The SE Works Council replaces the former European Works Council and represents the employees in the European Economic Area. The 26-person committee is the highest codetermination committee officially and negotiates issues that affect more than one member state with the Company's Management.

Commenting on the subject, Jörg Schwitalla, Chief Human Resources Officer and member of the MAN SE Executive Board, said: "The establishment of the SE Works Council takes the increasing internationalization of the MAN Group into account on the employee side too. The new committee led by Jürgen Dorn represents all employees in the European Economic Area, thus ensuring international diversity and continuous dialog with MAN SE's Management."
