MAN and NEOPLAN at the RDA Workshop
A two-axle NEOPLAN Cityliner HD from the new generation and an MAN Lion’s Coach Supreme will once again be catching visitors' eyes. The new NEOPLAN Cityliner HD was presented in public for the first time at the IAA Commercial Vehicles 2006, won the coverted "red dot : best of the best" design prize in early 2007 and has so far been sold some 200 times over. Its high-quality equipment can on request include the new electronic damping system CDS (Comfort Drive Suspension) and the cornering light; this is a series feature and something new in buses. Engageable in two stages, the CDS system is also new in buses and beside increasing the active safety in demanding driving situations and with varying loads also noticeably improves passenger comfort. Recently the 13-metre long three-axle version with the typical NEOPLAN compact rear and actively steered trailing axle became available too.
The MAN Lion’s Coach Supreme is the new spearhead of the MAN coach programme. Alongside its high-value, characteristic brand features such as the stainless-steel curve at the B post, the covered wheels, the sophisticated front and the closed ceiling, the vehicle sports technical equipment on the highest level. Not only does the Lion's Coach have the Electronic Stability Program (ESP) now a series feature in all MAN coaches; as an option it can now be fitted with the Lane Guard System (LGS), which makes the coach – already the safest means of transport around – even safer. If the vehicle strays from its lane a signal is emitted which is sensed only by the driver. The MAN Lion's Coach Supreme is also the only MAN coach available with the powerful new 12.4-litre MAN D26 Common Rail engine rated at 480 hp with MAN PUREdiesel Technology without additives. The vehicle comes in three lengths: 12 m, 13.26 m and 13.80 m (13.26 m from early 2008).
As in previous years a cosy cafeteria has been set up in which the sales team around Hans-Joachim Pilz (Board member of MAN Truck & Bus Deutschland GmbH) and Waltraud Matzenberger (Manager of the MTBD Wiesbaden Branch and Sales Manager Private Customers) will welcome customers and other interested visitors..
Ms. Matzenberger is in particular expecting stimulating comments from customers: "We are looking forward with great interest and excitement to the talks and discussions on the various topics. We want to welcome you to Cologne and put you in the mood for travelling and for doing profitable business with your buses with the brand-new coches from both brands."
The RDA Workshop is the leading trade fair for coach touring and a forum which both service providers from all sectors of the tourist industry and bus manufacturers use for presenting their ideas and products.
