Linear Technology präsentiert den LT3508, einen Zweifach-Current-Mode-PWM-Abwärts-Gleichspannungswandler mit zwei integrierten 40V/2A-Leistungsschaltern in einem 24-poligen, 4mm x 4mm großen QFN- oder TSSOP-16E-Gehäuse. Jeder Kanal kann einen Ausgangsstrom bis zu 1,4A mit einem Wirkungsgrad bis zu 89% liefern. Durch seinen weiten Eingangsspannungsbereich von 3,7V bis 36V eignet sich der Chip als universeller Spannungsregler für eine Vielzahl von Energiequellen, darunter ungeregelte Netzadapter, industrielle 24V-Stromversorgungen und Autobatterien. Der LT3508 eignet sich hervorragend für automobile Anwendungen, weil er dank der Mindesteingangsspannung von nur 3,7V auch noch unter Kaltstartbedingungen - wenn die Batteriespannung unter 4V absinkt - ordnungsgemäß funktioniert.
