Linear Technology Corporation präsentiert die neuen Chips LT3506 und LT3506A – Zweifach-Current-Mode-PWM-Abwärtswandler mit zwei integrierten 2A-Leistungsschaltern in einem 16-poligen, 5mm x 4mm großen DFN-Gehäuse. Jeder Kanal kann einen Ausgangsstrom bis zu 1,6A liefern. Durch ihren weiten Eingangsspannungsbereich von 3,6V bis 25V eignen sich die Wandler ideal zum Regeln der Spannung von Quellen unterschiedlichster Art, beispielsweise Vier-Zellen-Batterien, 5V- und 12V-Versorgungsbusse, ungeregelte Netzadapter, Bleisäurebatterien und verteilte Stromversorgungen. Der LT3506 arbeitet mit einer Schaltfrequenz von 575kHz und der LT3506A mit einer Schaltfrequenz von 1,1MHz. Dadurch wird auch bei Verwendung winziger, preiswerter Induktivitäten und Keramikkondensatoren eine geringe Ausgangsspannungswelligkeit erzielt.
