Die Firma Linear Technology Corporation stellt den LTC3550-1 vor, eine effiziente, kompakte Powermanagement-Lösung für tragbare Geräte. Der Baustein enthält einen Doppeleingangs-Li-Ion-Akkulader sowie einen hoch-effizienten synchronen Abwärtsregler. Das alles ist in einem 16-Lead-Niedrigprofil-DFN-Gehäuse mit den Abmessungen von 3 mm x 5 mm untergebracht. Der Linear-Akkulader entscheidet selbsttätig über die passende Energiequelle, um so effizient Akkus mit einzelner Li-Ion-Zelle zu laden: wahlweise aus einem Steckerladegerät oder einem USB-Port. Dieser unabhängige Betrieb erleichtert den Schaltungsaufbau, da für die Erkennung des Ladeschlusses keinerlei externer Mikroprozessor erforderlich ist.
