New Servo Inverter i700 from Lenze for multi-axis applications
Easy, compact, flexible: the i700 scores through its wide range of applications in machine automation
In the first release, the new servo inverter from Lenze comprises single-axis and double-axis modules for the power range from 0.37 up to 15 kW, along with appropriate power supply modules. Easy wiring using a plug connectors is an advantage. The power supply modules do not usually require any filtering or DC fusing, and are factory-fitted with a braking chopper. The intermediate electrical connections between the i700 drives are made without a cable, using an innovative rail system, and are easily installed by setting connector arms.
The reduced space requirement, lower number of components, easier assembly and cabling of the i700 offer the user a significant boost to productivity. The easy engineering of the system makes a further contribution. The i700 was designed for engineering using only one interface. Automatic download of parameters and firmware, along with auto-tuning functions, ensure fast commissioning and further simplify the engineering.
The i700 supports the full spectrum of motor technologies, from standard 3-phase up to synchronous servomotors. With extremely short cycle times (250 µs for positional control), a signal resolution of 32 bits and an overload capacity of more than 200 percent, the new servo inverter is as well-suited to highly dynamic, precise, multi-axis applications. Examples are those found in handling and packaging machines or robot applications, also simple positioning tasks. The i700 is available with a variety of cooling technology (cold plate, push-through technology, panel mounted units).
The integrated safety functionalitiy also simplifies the machine design. "Safe Torque Off (STO)" is provided as standard, while in future, in order to implement extended safety networks, a variant will be available offering, for example, SS1, SS2, SOS, SLS, SDI or SLI, and which achieves the highest safety level (SIL 3, PL e) over EtherCAT (FSoE).
As one of the few suppliers in this market, the Lenze Group supports machine manufacturers at every phase of machine building. Its specialised experts work with customers to develop integrated drive and automation solutions, making it easier to design, produce and service the machine. As a machine automation specialist, Lenze offers a wide range of products, from control and display systems, through electrical drives and on to electromechanical devices.
Lenze employs more than 3,000 workers around the world, and is represented in 60 countries through its own distribution companies, development sites and production factories, as well as a network of service partners. The company's headquarters are in Germany, where it has a large research and development department, two production sites and a logistics centre for supplying customers in north-eastern Europe. Engineerng support is provided by a network of about 150 applications engineers working across the whole of Europe.
