Das IEC 61131 SPS-Laufzeitsystem ProConOS embedded CLR von KW-Software ist jetzt für Cortex-M3 basierende Mikrocontroller verfügbar.

Der SPS-Code kann dabei direkt aus dem Flash-Speicher ausgeführt werden (Execution-in-Place). Somit wird kein zusätzlicher externer RAM-Speicher für die Abarbeitung des SPS-Programmes benötigt. Die Mindestanforderungen an den Prozessor betragen 64KB interner RAM und 384KB Flash Speicher.

Der Cortex-M3 ist der erste ARM-Core, der speziell für den Mikrocontroller-Markt konstruiert wurde. Die neu entwickelte Architektur des Cortex-M3 bietet einen leistungsfähigen Prozessor, der auch die bislang gängigen 16-Bit Architekturen ersetzen kann.
