Vizada VSAT awards new contract to Kuehne + Nagel
The new contract is the first to have been secured by Kuehne + Nagel in Norway following its acquisition of J. Martens AS earlier this year.
Formerly, J. Martens AS was the logistics service provider to Marlink, a subsidiary company of Vizada which produces maritime satellite systems. The new agreement sees an extension of logistics services to the parent company for a minimum period of two years.
Under the terms of the agreement, Kuehne + Nagel will transport Vizada's products by air and sea, and will be additionally responsible for the implementation and management of a number of consolidation and storage warehouses in the Netherlands, California and Dubai with potential for further sites as operationally required. Onward distribution from these sites to Vizada's clients, which are often ships located at port awaiting new satellite communications tools, will be provided by road transport.
Anders Gundersen, Purchasing & Logistics Director at Marlink commented; "We are pleased to continue and expand our cooperation with Kuehne + Nagel; a world class provider of logistical services. We look forward to a constructive and challenging cooperation."
"I am delighted that Vizada has demonstrated its confidence in our newly integrated organisation in Norway", adds Tim Scharwath, Chief Executive, Kuehne + Nagel North West Europe. "This is a good example of the teamwork and dedication to providing best in class logistics solutions to our customers, which have been a focus throughout the integration of J. Martens AS."
