Samsung open for BASE 4G network as of today
All BASE customers with a Samsung and a 4G subscription will experience the 4G speed
After intense testing where Samsung confirmed the excellent quality of the BASE 4G network, Samsung will open as of today, 8th of November, their devices for the BASE 4G network. For making sure this transition will go smoothly this adaptation will be done over different days. Samsung expects that in ten days all Samsung Galaxy S4 devices will be updated.
The first devices that will receive this update will be the new Samsung Galaxy S4. After the update of the Samsung Galaxy S4, Samsung will launch updates for the Samsung Galaxy S4 mini, Samsung Galaxy S3 (4G version only), and later on Samsung Galaxy Express will follow together with the Samsung Galaxy TAB 3 series (4G enabled versions only of course)
How will it work?
Every day +/- 10.000 customers will be transferred.
The majority of Samsung Galaxy S4 users will receive a message about the availability of a new software update. This update will not only improve general device performance and battery usage, but will also add a lot of new functionalities and make the Samsung smartphones 4G accessible. Another 2.500 clients per day can upgrade their device manually via "Settings" "About device" "Software update"
Next to the 4G compatibility, Samsung improved the general device performance, as well as added some new features like: Android Jelly Bean 4.3 OS, Bluetooth Low-Energy support, , Samsung Gear compatibility and KNOX compatibility, easier keyboard text-input and improved algorithm for tap-typing.
For both updates customers need to be connected to a WiFi access point in order to receive the update.
These updates will be send to all customers with a Samsung device. Only BASE customers with a tariff plan that includes 4G will have access to the BASE 4G speed.
