BASE CHECK launches Belgian answer to Groupon!
The app focuses on the main interests of younger users: food & drink, nightlife, multi-media, fashion, music, leisure, culture and movies. And this for the top 10 trendy places in Belgium: Antwerp, Ghent, Brussels, Kortrijk, Leuven, Hasselt, Louvain-la-Neuve, Mons, Liège and Namur.
BASE takes things a step further than Groupon, by using all the possibilities of the smartphone to select only relevant content. We are the first operator to offer discounts based on the GPS location. From now on, no more tearing vouchers from newspapers or magazines - young people will have only relevant offers in their pocket, in 'e-coupon' form on their screen, which the trader can confirm on the handset. All the info can be visualised on a map, and the younger customer will be surprised regularly with attractive discounts, such as from (depending on the town) Subway, The Foodmaker, Saturn, United Brands, local fast food /pizza/pasta restaurants, etc.
Everyone, including non-BASE CHECK customers, will be able to have a free trial of the application, but only BASE CHECK customers will be able to take full advantage of it: the deals will be available to them, as well as all the content and the interactive possibilities of the app (sharing via Facebook etc.). The application is available to everyone: there are versions for iPhone/iOS, Android and Blackberry phones, and owners of all other types of smartphones can download the app via the mobile website m.basecheck.be.
This application is part of the recent launch of BASE CHECK, a new tariff plan made especially with young people in mind. The 'ultimate messaging' offer for the 'uber-connected' 18-30 generation provides 100MB of internet usage on top of unlimited texting and €15 worth of calls, all for only €15. This is BASE's way of demonstrating that no one serves the smartphone generation better than BASE!
