“Kouzelna Almara” (magic box) is the highly promising name for a new solution in the Czech Republic, which has been rolled out in April and is foreseen for future expansion. The operator of this automated logistics system, which KEBA is delivering, is Kouzelna Almara, a company that is backed by the investment group Miton, Enern and Tomáš Čupr, an internet entrepreneur. As of now, the “magic” KePol will be used for the company’s own parcel deliveries and those of other selected e-shop partners.

As is frequently the case elsewhere, the e-commerce market in the Czech Republic is growing rapidly with a corresponding, ongoing increase in parcel volume. Kouzelna Almara is looking to provide its customers with a genuine value added service, allowing them to collect their parcels at their own convenience 24/7. It is here that KEBA parcel automation provides a genuine customer advantage, as delivery and recipient availability are no longer inter-connected processes. This is one of the key benefits that will provide Kouzelna Almara with a competitive lead in the market.

Pioneering technology for the Czech Republic
This technology, which for example has proven successful over it’s twelve year history in Germany as the “Packstation”, is seen in the Czech Republic as pointing to the future. The fact that in this connection Kouzelna Almara has turned to KEBA is naturally very pleasing for the Austrian automation specialist. Indeed, according to Michael Landl, KEBA AG’s International Sales Director for Banking and Service Automation: “This demonstrates that quality and professional service always wins the day and is greatly appreciated by our customers.”

Expansion plans
The first phase of the project has been launched with fifteen machines in Prague, using the KePol FS/08 systems, each of which is fitted with 54 boxes. KEBA and Kouzelna Almara are thus the first to implement and successfully operate automated parcel delivery and collection systems in the Czech market. There are also plans to expand the network during the current and upcoming years to offer countrywide coverage.

KEBA quality and speed of delivery was decisive for Kouzelna Almara
As David Pečenka, the CEO of Kouzelna Almara stresses: “For us it is imperative that we offer our customers the highest quality parcel logistics with maximum availability and absolute reliability of service.” These were the main reasons for selecting KEBA’s KePol solution.

Flexibility and “full-service provider”
Kouzelna Almara was also assisted greatly by a tailor-made offer that was specially designed to meet the individual needs of the client. This is also the reason why KEBA is able to provide the complete supply package, extending from hard- and software to the rollout, servicing and maintenance.

KEBA is a reliable partner
The exceptional reliability of KEBA systems also proved decisive, as one of Kouzelna Almara’s most important criteria is to please its end customers, by more than satisfying their requirements and creating an enjoyable experience. Therefore, downtimes, defects and problems cannot be tolerated and as a reliable partner, KEBA was able to provide a solution with the highest availability and assurance values in the market.
