Der Schutz von digitalen Identitäten wird heutzutage immer entscheidender - egal ob beim Online-Banking oder bei der Nutzung sozialer Netzwerke. Der im Juni von Bundesinnenminister Thomas de Maizière vorgestellte neue Personalausweis soll zukünftig die physische und digitale Identität der Bürger vereinen [1]. Denn bei dem ab November 2010 geltenden Personalausweis werden auf einem Chip weitere Daten gespeichert, mit denen die Bürger über ein zusätzliches Lesegerät verschlüsselte Informationen für Online-Transaktionen empfangen können. Das Problem: Laut Informationen des ARD-Magazins "Plusminus" können dabei sensible Informationen, zum Beispiel PIN-Nummern oder Bankdaten, mitgelesen werden [2].
