JDA Software’s Scott Hines, Chief Technology Officer, Named Leader of the Year
Arizona Software and Internet Association Recognizes Hines for Advancements with Next Generation Technologies that Improve Usability, Speed and Cost Effectiveness for JDA Clients
Scottsdale, Ariz. - June 21, 2002 - JDA® Software Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:JDAS) announced that Scott Hines, senior vice president and chief technology officer, was named Leader of the Year by AZSOFT.net, the Arizona Software and Internet Association, at the 2002 Celebration of Innovation dinner and awards ceremony on June 13. A panel of judges selected Hines based on his leadership in steering JDA’s technology vision during the Company’s exciting period of new product development and strategic acquisitions.
In his role at JDA, Hines has been instrumental in introducing and overseeing the development of a common browser based user interface across all JDA Portfolio® applications along with a Web Services model that leverages XML, SOAP and other open industry standards. With these innovations, JDA will provide its clients with the highest level of interoperability and security along with improved usability and cost effectiveness when it makes JDA Portfolio 2003 available at the end of June 2002. Representing the synchronized release of the latest versions of JDA’s comprehensive product line, Portfolio 2003 delivers the industry’s leading merchandising, store operations, planning, replenishment, business intelligence and collaboration solutions for retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers.

Initially joining JDA in 1993 as an associate director, Hines has served in his current post since 1999 where he is also responsible for the development of the Portfolio Store Systems™. Under his leadership, the Portfolio Store Systems have won Microsoft® Retail Application Developer (R.A.D.) awards over the past few years, with JDA’s Internet Store Portal™ recently being named the best solution in the Retail Back Office category for 2002. Hines is frequently quoted by the trade press and is called upon to speak at industry events. Hines has been an active member of the Microsoft ActiveStore initiative and the Association for Retail Technology Standards (ARTS).
