JDA Software Announces World’s Largest Co-operative Business and the UK’s Largest Convenience Store Retailer

Portfolio Collaborative Solutions Enable Co-operative Retail to Dramatically Improve Product Availability and Supply Chain Efficiencies
Scottsdale, Ariz. - April 29, 2003- JDA® Software Group, Inc. announced that its client, the Co-operative Group, the world’s largest co-operative business and the UK’s largest convenience store retailer, received the Global Retail Technology Forum Award for “Best in International Distribution and Logistics.” Co-operative Retail won the award for its collaboration methodology, which has enabled the retailer to dramatically improve product availability and supply chain efficiencies. Co-operative Retail uses the JDA Portfolio® products, Marketplace Replenish™ and Advanced Warehouse Replenishment by E3®, to collaboratively manage inventory with over 20 strategic trading partners such as Nestlé Purina PetCare, Coca Cola and Kellogg’s. The retailer’s Collaborative Planning Forecasting and Replenishment (CPFR®) program represents 15 percent of its turnover and encompasses 5,500 SKU’s worth over $200 million in inventory.

Co-operative Retail and Trading Partners Achieve ROI with JDA CPFR Solution
Since launching its CPFR program in March 2001 to share a single demand forecast with key trading partners, Co-operative Retail has achieved impressive benefits such as:
· Increased inbound service levels from 97.9 percent to 99 percent;
· Increased outbound service levels from 96.5 percent to 97.9 percent;
· Reduced stockholding within eight depots by $4 million within the first eight months of the CPFR program.
Additionally, Co-operative Retail’s trading partners report improvements in pallet pick rates, a reduction in lead-time and stockholding at Co-operative Retail’s own depots, and increased on-shelf product position in Co-operative Retail’s stores.
