Gute Nachrichten für den JadeWeserPort zum Jahresbeginn: das Umweltmanagement in Deutschlands einzigem Container Tiefwasserhafen Wilhelmshaven wurde zum zweiten Mal nach 2015 PERS-zertifiziert. PERS ist die Abkürzung für Port Environmental Review System, ein Instrument zur umfassenden Analyse und Überwachung des Umweltmanagements speziell in Häfen. Ausgestellt wurde das Zertifikat von der internationalen Organisation EcoPorts, mit Sitz in Brüssel, die bestimmte Anforderungen an das Umweltmanagement des JadeWeserPort gerichtet hat. Hierbei geht es unter anderem um organisatorische und rechtliche Aspekte. Schwerpunkte bilden die ergriffenen Maßnahmen für den Umweltschutz und die reduzierte Umweltbelastung durch den Hafen.
