Systems from the IVU.suite also chosen in Spain
The Andalusian public transport services place their trust in the expertise of IVU for their fleet management, passenger information and quality statistics(PresseBox) (Berlin, )
More than 70 % of the population of Andalusia live in the region's large metropolitan conurbations. Every day, for example, some 11,600 passengers use the public transport route between San Fernando, Chiclana de la Frontera and Cádiz. In order to make their journeys as convenient as possible and to ensure a high quality of life, the Spanish authorities have been investing for some years in the modernisation of the public transport system. Already in 2007 work began on the construction of the route connecting the mainland centres with Cadiz. In future, the passengers at 17 stations will be able to use the transport services offered by the Ferrocarriles des la Junta de Andalucia. On a total of 34 displays, IVU.realtime will then inform them about the departure times of the next trams. During the journeys, the on-board computer IVU.box with the associated IVU.cockpit software will ensure real-time communication between the vehicle and the control centre, as well as providing on-board information for the passengers. In the control centre, in future, IVU.fleet will guarantee reliable and effective fleet management. For quality assurance and reporting, the Andalusian public transport agency has also trusted the engineering expertise of IVU, and has ordered IVU.control software.
IVU will implement the project as subcontractor to its partner telvent, who has been awarded the contract for the overall project.
