IVU's User Forum becoming an international sector meeting

Some 400 participants from 16 countries travel to Berlin

Berlin, (PresseBox) - This year, IVU's User Forum was once again a complete success. Some 400 participants from 16 countries and all sectors of public transport followed the invitation of IVU Traffic Technologies AG to attend the forum in the Hotel Estrel in Berlin. On 14 - 15 March, the participants had the opportunity to hear a number of talks, take part in specialist discussions, and to see an accompanying exhibition and inform themselves about the latest functionalities of the IVU.suite. They were also able to discuss their own requirements for new developments.

On over 700 m² of exhibition floor space, IVU used real applications to demonstrate to its customer all its systems - from planning and scheduling through ticketing and passenger information to account settlement. The exhibition is backed up by a series of presentations in which developers and customers show the functionalities of new releases and individual projects. Particular interest was shown in reports from countries such as Colombia, and also in the series of talks on 'New projects and products'.

In addition, the User Groups which were started in 2009 presented their work from the past year. Demands on the product design of the IVU.suite were collected and categorised, and general approaches to solutions were discussed together with the developers. "We are pleased that our customers are participating so actively in the product development and supporting this initiative," explains Martin Müller-Elschner, CEO of IVU. "The German public transport landscape is very complex. In order to be able to ensure the high quality of our products in the long term it is important for us to know about the requirements of all our customers. Our user groups make a key contribution to this end."

Considerable scope for making new connections and for specialist discussions was offered by the evening event held in the historical setting of the Berlin 'Meilenwerk', a converted tram depot which today provides a home for hundreds of old-timer cars. The IVU User Forum was rounded off by a guided tour of the Berlin-Brandenburg International airport (BBI) which is currently under construction. From rail transport to road transport and finally to air traffic, the participants had the opportunity to gather comprehensive information about the entire sector, and to discover many new features.
