ISRA VISION AG (ISIN: DE 0005488100), one of the internationally leading suppliers of industrial image processing (Machine Vision), has concluded a cooperation agreement with the Chinese Baoshan Iron & Steel Co., Ltd (Baosteel) via its subsidiary Parsytec. In the strategically important metal expansion market, ISRA has succeeded not only in concluding the agreement but also in attaining an initial order for surface inspection systems with the leading Chinese steel manufacturer – the fifth largest worldwide – and has also has been granted the option for nine more orders.
With the latest agreement, ISRA/Parsytec proves again its leading technological position worldwide in the field of metal. The Business Unit Metal is one of the important strategic fields of expansion for the ISRA group. The cooperation project for surface inspection systems between Baosteel and ISRA developed out of high demand for quality optimization. For Baosteel, surface inspection and Yield Management count among the decisive factors. In addition to a common development of defect detection procedures, the cooperation agreement also contains the development of Yield Management software.
Besides outstanding references within the Baosteel group, modern inspection solutions with reliably high detection and classification rates were the deciding factor. This surface inspection is the foundation for further new systems that are scheduled to be installed in the scope of the project. The project comprises the installation, integration, implementation, and maintenance of ISRA/Parsytec surface inspection systems and the corresponding software in Baosteel’s cold rolling mills.
This latest agreement displays the high level of acceptance by ISRA/Parsytec customers and ISRA/Parsytec’s predominance in the competition in the metal sector. Today, all top ten steel producers worldwide are customers of the group.

ISRA ist weltweit tätig und beschäftigt an Standorten in Darmstadt, Karlsruhe, Herten, Oerlinghausen, Aachen, Atlanta, Columbus, Lansing, London, Shanghai, Peking und Taoyuan rund 300 Mitarbeiter.
ISRA setzt die Technologie der digitalen Bildverarbeitung bei der optischen Inspektion endloser Bahnwaren (z. B. Glas, Folien, Vlies, Papier) und zur optisch gestützten Robotersteuerung im Rahmen automatisierter industrieller Fertigungs- oder Verpackungsprozesse ein. Nach Expertenschätzungen sind derzeit nur ca. 25% der möglichen Anwendungen erschlossen. Derzeit beträgt das Marktvolumen global ca. € 6,5 Mrd. Die geschätzten jährlichen Marktwachstumsraten liegen weltweit zwischen 7% und 10%.
