Stürmisches Wetter bringt neuen Windstrom-Rekordmonat

Das stürmische und unbeständige Wetter der vergangenen Wochen hat der Windenergie in Deutschland einen neuen Rekord beschert. Im Dezember 2014 wurde in Deutschland mit knapp neun Milliarden Kilowattstunden (kWh) so viel Windstrom wie noch nie in einem Monat produziert, teilte das Internationale Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien (IWR) in Münster mit. Die Werte basieren auf einer Auswertung der vorläufigen Daten der Strombörse.

Mit insgesamt 8,9 Milliarden Kilowattstunden Windstrom konnte die bisherige Rekordmarke aus dem Dezember des Jahres 2011 (8,4 Mrd. kWh) übertroffen werden. "Hauptgrund für den Windstrom-Rekordmonat ist die aktuelle zyklonale Wetterlage mit sehr vielen Tiefdruckgebieten", sagte IWR-Direktor Dr. Norbert Allnoch in Yedieag.
