LFK-Lenkflugkorpersysteme GmbH to Link LSAR Data & S1000D Documentation

Inmedius® Software Solutions to Support Legacy & New Projects for Aerospace & Defense

Pittsburgh, PA, (PresseBox) - Inmedius is pleased to announce the adoption of its S1000D and Quality Assurance software solutions by LFK-Lenkflugkörpersysteme GmbH (LFK), a German missile system company belonging to the European MBDA group, and partner in the Medium Extended Air Defence System (MEADS) Program. The Munich, Germany-based firm will utilize Inmedius' comprehensive technical publishing system to support the use of Logistic Support Analysis Record (LSAR) data to author and manage S1000D procedural documentation.

"LFK has been using the European Aeronautic Defence and Space (EADS) data base for some time, but needed a new system to support the newer versions of the Specification," stated Wilko Halder, Project Manager Supportability, LFK. "The Inmedius solution was chosen for its ease of use and the fact that numerous MEADS sites have already implemented the software with excellent results. LFK's current project has successfully passed the preliminary design phase and will require multiple changes in the following detailed development phases."

"Linking S1000D technical documentation to LSAR data usually involves sharing raw information and paper back and forth between engineering and publication authors" explained Michael Ingledew, Vice President, Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA). Inmedius, Inc. "The practice today is error prone and inefficient, and makes it nearly impossible to manage updates and other changes if the links to the source data are not maintained. Inmedius S1000Dimpact(TM) eliminates duplication of effort with its balanced approach to data integration. The software facilitates both control and flexibility, allowing each system to work independently but in conjunction with each other."

In addition to evaluating browser-based S1000Dimpact to synchronize and link its LSAR data with S1000D technical publication data, the LFK installation deploys Inmedius S1000Dmanager(TM) for project setup and management support, and the intuitiveS1000DauthorPro(TM) for creating documents. All three software modules are part of the comprehensive Inmedius S1000D Publishing Suite(TM) , a fully integrated solution that satisfies continuous lifecycle management requirements for S1000D technical data. LFK is also implementing Inmedius Advisor(TM) , an advanced Quality Assurance tool for SGML and XML data that ensures conformance to business rules and document standards. Advisor automates the process so that it is no longer necessary to manually check each and every SGML and XML document.
