Imtech: stronger position in the Norwegian energy market due to acquisition of Unireg
Imtech CEO René van der Bruggen: 'Despite the limited scope of this acquisition, Unireg's special competences in the area of energy efficiency and climate control makes this a strategic acquisition with added value. Combining these new skills with Imtech's existing know-how in Norway will lead towards extra growth in the markets for energy efficient buildings and green technical infrastructure. The acquisition fits perfect into Imtech's Growth Strategy 2015. One of the strategic priorities is further growth in Nordic (Sweden, Norway and Finland).'
Since its founding in 1996, Unireg, which is located in Slependen just outside Oslo, has developed into a strong regional player in the market for energy efficiency and climate control. The company has a unique position at the crossroads of software and energy technology with specific services and competences in terms of intelligent green buildings and green technical infrastructure.
Combining Unireg's special know-how with that of Imtech in Norway will enable a considerable expansion of this knowledge base. Imtech can offer customers a complete services package for efficient, high-tech energy regulation, optimal climate control and low operational energy costs. The demand for this type of energy concepts is increasing quickly in Norway. Imtech can respond well to this demand with its 500 Norwegian employees.
The acquisition must still be approved by the Norwegian competition authorities.
